Free grammar checker
Paste a sentence or a whole page. Edyt underlines grammar, spelling and punctuation mistakes, and fixes them in one click.
Select text to open the Edyt pill, or press Ctrl K for every action and ready-made prompt.
What the grammar checker looks for
Four kinds of mistake: spelling, grammar, punctuation and wording. Grammar covers subject and verb agreement, tense, a missing word and the wrong word in the right place, such as their for they're. Punctuation covers commas, apostrophes, capital letters and the full stop you forgot. Wording is the sentence that is correct but hard to read.
A sentence checker or a page checker
Paste one sentence to check it before you send it, or a full page and every sentence in it is checked. Each issue is underlined where it is. Click an underline to see the suggestion and the reason, or press Fix errors to correct the clear mistakes at once. Wording suggestions are left for you to decide.
The same checker, everywhere you write
This page is the checker from Edyt opened on a draft. Edyt Desktop runs the same checks as you type in Mail, Slack, Notes and most other apps on your Mac or PC, and the browser extension does it in Chrome. The card under each underline also has Rewrite and your own prompts, so a fix can sound like you rather than like a style guide.
