Edyt v0.95 Changelog

August 15, 2026

Proofread is here: select any text and Edyt checks it for grammar, spelling, and style issues in place.

New

  • Proofread (Ctrl+Shift+Y by default) checks selected text for grammar, spelling, and style issues right where it lives.
  • Corrections stream in as Edyt finds them, colour-coded by category, with a confidence badge on anything it's unsure about.
  • "Fix all" only applies once Edyt is confident enough in what it found.
  • Proofread has full undo and redo, so you can step back through corrections one at a time.
  • Panels can now be dragged from anywhere on their surface, not just the title bar.

Improved

  • The Alternatives panel now streams results in and matches Proofread's layout.
  • Buttons are bigger and rounder throughout the app.
  • Panels open at a consistent size and read right-to-left text correctly.
  • Panel backgrounds are fully opaque, so nothing shows through behind them.
  • Explain moved from Ctrl+Shift+E to Ctrl+Shift+X.

Fixed

  • Errors now show one clear message per panel instead of raw technical text.
  • A stalled update download recovers on its own instead of hanging forever.
  • A failed update keeps the reason it failed instead of a generic message.
  • Edyt no longer keeps checking for updates against a channel it couldn't resolve.
  • Opening the toolbar no longer restarts the selection helper unless your hotkeys actually changed.
  • When Edyt can't tell whether it's missing a permission or the selection helper just isn't running, you now see one clear setup screen instead of a dead-end error.

Includes release v0.95.0.
